We are a small, family-owned agency that has provided SAT and ACT prep to Connecticut families since 2008. Our 10-hour Custom Test Prep package comes with a discounted hourly rate. It can be divided among the different SAT or ACT sections or used just to focus on one section — just SAT math, for example. Sessions range from one to two hours. Our tutors have flexible schedules, and they come directly to your door.

Test Prep Programs Optimized for Digital SAT and ACT

Navigating a digital test requires more than just knowing the subject matter; it requires comfort with the platform itself. Our tutors guide students in taking full advantage of official, free tools, including the College Board Bluebook app and Khan Academy.

By using free practice test diagnostics, we establish a clear baseline and design a personalized plan focusing directly on the areas ripe for improvement. We also ensure your student fully understands how to utilize built-in test-day tools—such as the on-screen graphing calculator, reference sheets, line reader, and digital note-taking features—so there are no surprises on test day.

  • SAT or ACT?

    Our students often take both, especially with the new Digital SAT bringing so many unknowns. Our 10-hr package can cover either or both tests.

  • Affordable

    Our fees are $90/hr for as many or as few hours as your student needs. We also offer a 10-hour package for $825 which includes a Kaplan or similar workbook.

  • Your Curriculum

    In-Home Tutors does not impose a curriculum or methodology on you. We base our tutoring on your child’s school curriculum and text books and work with you and your child’s teacher or counselor to identify where your child needs help. Our tutors do not charge for a reasonable amount of communication with teachers.

  • Your Location

    “In-Home” is in our name and all our tutors agree to tutor in the client’s home. If you’d prefer to meet at a library or coffee shop or other public location, that’s fine too. We will also send our tutor to your child’s school or daycare, as long as we receive official permission to meet there. In short, we always seek to do what’s most convenient for the client, not what’s easiest for the tutor.

  • Your Schedule

    We do our best to fit in with your schedule. Whether you need a tutor in the morning, afternoon, late into the evening or on the weekend, we can usually find a good tutor to match your availability. As you’d imagine our best tutors see their schedules fill up fast, so it is always in your interest to be flexible. But you’ll be impressed to see how hard we try to accommodate your requests.
